A big earthquake happened out far west of Shard, no damage or deaths reported. There does seem to be a cave in out where pards are, and eels used to be. The way into the eels has a large pile of boulders blocking the only path in that is left. A few minutes after the earthquake, Captain Cierzen came out to see the triage. Then the West gate was swarmed by eels. The ones outside of the gate were aggressive, but inside of the gate seemed more confused and able to be captured. Someone put out a crate at the West gate to collect eels into and prizes were awarded for depositing them. (I think it was a quick-thinking opportunist sushi chef!) Captain Cierzen seemed to be handed a note that might have been concerning Rekave, and left to attend to it. No hints for what that was about though. Here's a link to some of a log!

Neat. Does this mean the eel hunting area will be free of pards? Or was it already?

There is a hope that it might lead to that, but at the moment the eels and that swimming area don't seem accessible at all.

There have always been pards in eels plus the swimming area was messed up for lower level swimming so hopefully this fixes it.

I've had to rescue folks and have been rescued from that area before. One wrong move and you're stuck in excessively deep water, which is a real shame for the folks hunting the eels in there at level. But it is one good way to meet people and strike up a random, if soggy, conversation.

Cierzen and Rekave came out under Inyasa's directions to clear the pathway blocked by the earthquake and to raise a fence to keep separate the Golden Pards and Grass Eels. The stream, which used to flow east, now flows to the west and is far easier to get out of. Here's the log!(But you didn't hear anything about heads-hitting-posts or missing-paints from me!)

I have swum there for many, many seasons, progressing from just on top, to diving, to swimming under the water. It takes about 190 ranks to dive and swim under the water. Probably 140-150 to dive and make it up. Swimming can move very well just after boggle pond (tops out at around 60). I made a few observations at elanthipedia elanthipedia.org/w/index.php/Swimming It also works appraisal awesomely. Locks me in 20 or so with 325. I have genie scripts for non-dive swimming and dive-swim-under. The dive-swim-under is easily altered for just diving. advswimeel is the dive-swim-under swimmeel is the top water swimming Both appraise until mindlocked then swim until appraisal drops from mind lock.
